California Proposition 65 Notice

California's Proposition 65 — formally the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 — requires businesses to provide a warning before knowingly exposing anyone in California to any of roughly 900 listed chemicals above specified levels. The list includes lead and cadmium, which occur naturally in soil and are therefore present in trace amounts in most foods, and in nearly all plant-derived ingredients.

A Proposition 65 warning is not a statement that a product is unsafe, and it is not an FDA safety finding. California's warning thresholds are set well below the levels at which harm has been shown, and they are considerably lower than the limits used by federal food-safety standards. Many everyday foods — including leafy greens, root vegetables, cocoa, sweet potatoes, and herbs and spices — carry the same warning for the same reason.

M3 contains plant-derived ingredients, including ashwagandha root extract, organic lion's mane extract, and saffron flower extract. Botanical ingredients draw trace minerals from the soil they are grown in, and lead is among them. This is a property of agriculture rather than of any particular supplier or process.

We provide this warning because we would rather over-inform than under-inform. Providing it does not mean we have measured a specific exposure level in a finished M3 protocol; our finished-product testing programme is being completed with our manufacturing partners ahead of launch, and we would rather carry the notice from the outset than add it later.
